Dr Philip Mathen

Dr Mathen has over 20 years experience working in Sydney’s major teaching hospitals, both public and private (Macquarie University Hospital, St. Vincent’s and Mater Health, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, St George Hospital), and across a range of specialties, predominantly in internal medicine, respiratory medicine and intensive care.  He has served on a number of hospital committees relating to improving patient care and has been a valuable contributor to hospital accreditation activities.

Dr Mathen’s current clinical appointment is ICU Registrar at the new Macquarie University Hospital, where he specialises in the post-operative care of patients with complex needs in an intensive care/coronary care setting.

Dr Mathen practices preventive medicine across all levels and is passionate about disease prevention in individuals through effective screening and lifestyle risk factor modification.  He has joined the Executive Medicine Team to make a difference and provide our clients with a health assessment that reflects the very best of prevention advice, care and service delivery.
