Choosing an assessment

Find the appropriate level of clinical depth

Understand the assessment options, how they differ and how Executive Medicine complements your regular healthcare.

Do you see private clients?

Yes. Executive Medicine provides health assessments for people attending privately as well as executives and employees whose assessments are arranged by an organisation.

Private clients can choose directly from the Foundational, Signature and Foresight Health Assessments. If you are unsure which level is appropriate, our team can help you compare the options before booking.

Which health assessment should I choose?

The three assessments build in clinical depth.

The Foundational Health Assessment provides a comprehensive, doctor-led assessment of current health, major disease risks, lifestyle and physical capacity. It is the assessment many clients use annually to establish and track their health baseline.

The Signature Health Assessment includes everything in Foundational, with VO₂ max measured using a CardioCoach mask and additional hearing, lung-function, brain-processing-speed and hormonal-health assessment.

The Foresight Health Assessment includes everything in Signature and adds selected advanced investigations, including preventative cardiac and cancer genetic testing, DermScreen mole mapping, specialist dermatology involvement and on-site cardiac and abdominal ultrasound.

How is Executive Medicine different from a routine GP appointment?

Executive Medicine assessments and routine general practice serve different purposes.

A regular GP remains important for day-to-day medical care, symptoms, prescriptions and ongoing management. Executive Medicine provides extended, structured preventative health assessments that bring together pathology, physical-capacity testing, cardiovascular assessment, preventative screening and an in-depth doctor consultation.

The additional time allows findings to be interpreted together and translated into clear priorities and practical next steps.

How much do the assessments cost?

The current price for each assessment is displayed on its detailed assessment page after the inclusions and appointment process have been explained.

The $4,250 Foresight price includes every component defined as part of that assessment, including its named external-provider services. Any investigation recommended outside the defined assessment, or any optional enhancement chosen with Foundational or Signature, is discussed separately before proceeding.

How often should I have an assessment?

Many clients complete the Foundational or Signature Health Assessment annually. Repeating an assessment can create a personalised, data-driven record of changes in measures such as body composition, grip strength, cardiovascular fitness, cholesterol and diabetes risk.

The most appropriate frequency depends on your health history, findings and the level of assessment selected. Your doctor can recommend an appropriate timeframe.

Can I book VO₂ max and Resting Metabolic Rate testing without a full medical assessment?

Yes. Executive Medicine offers a separate VO₂ max and Resting Metabolic Rate Assessment with an Exercise Physiologist.

This is a 45–60 minute Exercise Physiology service costing $600. It does not involve a doctor and is undertaken as a separate service rather than as an addition to one of the three doctor-led health assessments.

Preparing for your visit

Know what to expect before you arrive

The clinic will provide instructions specific to your assessment and circumstances.

What happens before my health assessment?

The clinic will provide medical-history forms, pathology information and preparation instructions before your visit.

Blood tests are generally completed during the four days before the assessment. This allows available pathology results to be considered during your doctor consultation and gives the doctor an opportunity to request clarification or further testing where appropriate.

Follow the clinic’s specific instructions regarding fasting, medications, clothing and exercise.

What should I wear?

Your assessment includes physical-capacity testing and an Exercise Stress Test, so suitable clothing and footwear may be required.

The clinic will provide preparation guidance before your appointment. Contact the team if you have mobility limitations, injuries or medical concerns that may affect treadmill or exercise testing.

How long does each assessment take?

Allow approximately:

  • Foundational Health Assessment: 1.5–2 hours.
  • Signature Health Assessment: 2.5–3 hours.
  • Foresight Health Assessment: approximately 3.5–4 hours at Executive Medicine, plus a home-based swab for genetic testing and a separate external dermatology appointment.

Appointment times are approximate because the assessment is adapted to the individual and clinical discussions may take longer where necessary.

What happens during the appointment?

The Foundational and Signature assessments generally bring together:

  • Exercise Physiology assessment.
  • Diet and exercise review.
  • Body Composition Analysis and physical-capacity measures.
  • Treadmill Exercise Stress Test.
  • Doctor consultation and physical examination.
  • Review and interpretation of available results.
  • Discussion of preventative priorities and appropriate next steps.

Signature adds further physiological and clinical assessments. Foresight includes the Signature components together with selected advanced investigations, some of which take place at external clinics or facilities.

Testing and clinical scope

A connected and individually relevant assessment

Testing is selected and interpreted in the context of your history, risk and clinical findings.

What cardiovascular assessment is included?

All three health assessments include cardiovascular-risk assessment using relevant medical and family history, pathology, blood pressure, resting ECG and a treadmill Exercise Stress Test.

The treadmill assessment provides an estimated VO₂ max. Signature and Foresight include a more precise VO₂ max measured using a CardioCoach mask assessment.

Pathology and risk assessment may include cholesterol, high-sensitivity CRP and lipoprotein(a). Where clinically appropriate, the doctor may recommend additional investigation such as CT Coronary Angiography.

The exact approach is tailored to the individual.

What cancer screening is considered?

Cancer screening is tailored according to age, sex, medical and family history, previous screening and individual risk.

It may include discussion or review of bowel, breast, cervical and prostate screening, relevant pathology and a doctor-led skin check. Where appropriate, further investigations may include Mammogram, Cervical Screening Test, colonoscopy, imaging, DermScreen mole mapping or genetic testing.

Not every investigation is appropriate or included for every client. The doctor will explain which screening measures are relevant.

Do the assessments include a skin check?

Yes. A doctor-led skin check forms part of all three assessments.

DermScreen digital mole mapping is a separate advanced investigation that may be added to Foundational or Signature and is included within Foresight. DermScreen creates a photographic record that can assist with monitoring changes over time; it does not replace all forms of clinical or specialist dermatology assessment.

Do health assessments help detect disease early?

Early detection is one of the principal aims of preventative health assessment.

The assessment may identify risk factors, abnormal findings or changes that warrant monitoring or further investigation, including concerns that have not yet produced obvious symptoms. However, no health assessment can detect or exclude every disease.

Recommendations are based on the individual’s history, results and clinical findings.

Is mental health considered?

Yes. Mental health and wellbeing form part of the overall assessment discussion.

Depending on the assessment and the individual’s circumstances, this may include validated screening, discussion of stress or burnout, and consideration of how mental wellbeing, sleep, work and lifestyle affect broader health.

Signature and Foresight also include brain-processing-speed assessment. This test is not used independently to diagnose dementia, burnout or cognitive disease.

Results and follow-up

Clear interpretation and appropriate next steps

The assessment is designed to leave you with a connected understanding of your findings rather than a collection of unexplained results.

What will I receive after my assessment?

You will receive an integrated written report summarising relevant findings, recommendations and agreed next steps.

Rather than presenting pathology, medical examination and physical-capacity measures as disconnected results, the report brings them together into a clearer picture of your current health and priorities.

For clients returning over time, selected measures can be presented graphically to help track change and maintain accountability.

What happens if further investigation is recommended?

Your doctor will explain why an additional test, imaging study or referral may be appropriate.

Further investigations may include CT Coronary Angiography, Mammogram, Cervical Screening Test, Bone Density Scan, Hepatic Elastography or other testing based on your results and clinical circumstances.

Executive Medicine follows up requested investigations where appropriate. Additional tests delivered externally may involve separate provider fees.

Is follow-up included?

Follow-up relating to investigations recommended through the assessment is provided where appropriate. Straightforward results may be communicated by email, while findings requiring further explanation may be discussed by telephone or consultation.

Where clinically indicated, the assessments also include two follow-up Body Composition Analysis appointments with an Exercise Physiologist during the year.

Can my results be shared with my regular GP?

Yes. With your permission, relevant reports and results can be shared with your regular GP or another treating clinician to support continuity of care.

Executive Medicine assessments complement, rather than replace, appropriate ongoing care with your regular doctor.

Do Executive Medicine assessments replace my regular GP?

No. Executive Medicine provides structured preventative health assessments and follow-up relating to those assessments.

Your regular GP remains important for acute illness, prescriptions, ongoing condition management, routine care and health concerns arising between assessments.

Organisations and confidentiality

Individual care remains private

Organisations can arrange assessments while each participant retains a confidential doctor–patient relationship.

Are the health assessments different for corporate clients?

The clinical assessment options are the same Foundational, Signature and Foresight Health Assessments available to private clients.

An organisation may arrange or fund assessments for executives or employees, but the individual receives the same doctor-led clinical care and confidential interpretation.

Explore Organisational Assessments
Will my employer see my results?

No individual medical results are provided to an employer without the client’s explicit written consent.

An organisation may receive confirmation that an administrative requirement has been completed or de-identified, aggregated program information where this has been agreed. Personal clinical findings remain confidential.

Can an organisation arrange assessments for several employees?

Yes. Executive Medicine can work with organisations arranging preventative health assessments for executives, employees or selected teams.

The clinic can discuss assessment options, booking coordination, invoicing and confidentiality requirements with the organisation while keeping each participant’s medical information private.
