Myths About Food

There are some myths about food and meal habits that need busting. I encourage you to read Myths About Food.

If you are short of time you’ll find some highlights below.

  1. While children definitely need breakfast to boost their concentration, there is no clear evidence that this is so for adults. It’s best to experiment and learn what is best for your physiology.
  2. Eliminating two thick slices of bread a day (and keeping everything else constant) will lead to 1kg weight loss a month.
  3. A healthy lunch is massively plant based with a healthy protein like chicken, turkey or fish.
  4. With the evening meal, less is best.
  5. For those with sleep problems, milk might be worth a try. It contains both calcium to help you relax and tryptophan which can aid in sleep.
  6. If you need a good night’s sleep don’t drink alcohol beforehand.
  7. Energy drinks should be minimised or avoided.
